Strabismus surgery
At Crystal Vision we achieve some of the best strabismus treatment outcomes in Russia and internationally, using the latest diagnostic and treatment methods.
We achieve success in 98% of all cases!
The earlier treatment begins, the better the outcome: the optimal age for this is up to 4 years, when the visual system is at its most adaptable.
With our comprehensive approach, we restore symmetrical eye alignment and rehabilitate vision.
Nystagmus surgery
Nystagmus is a condition in which the eyes move constantly and uncontrollably, leading to reduced visual acuity.
At Crystal Vision we have developed an effective treatment system that not only stops involuntary eye movement but also improves visual acuity. We use a specialised surgical technique that achieves complete nystagmus blocking in 78% of cases, and in 22% significantly reduces its manifestations.
Our team uses modern "blade-free" technologies that minimise surgical trauma and preserve the structures of the eye. We also apply unique diagnostic methods to identify the precise cause of nystagmus and select the optimal treatment approach, enabling us to achieve excellent outcomes and improve our patients' quality of life.

Dacryocystorhinostomy
Dacryocystorhinostomy is surgery for lacrimal pathway obstruction, including probing of the lacrimal ducts. The effectiveness of this procedure at Crystal Vision reaches 100%.
During probing for dacryocystitis, the surgeon introduces a specialised probe into the lacrimal duct directly through the lacrimal punctum. It is critically important that this manoeuvre is performed with great precision. However, an awake child may move actively, significantly increasing the risk of creating a false passage in the lacrimal duct or fistulas — leading to complications and the need for repeat probing.
The principal advantage of this procedure at Crystal Vision is its minimally traumatic nature. This significantly reduces recovery time following dacryocystorhinostomy.
- Watering of the eye
- Swelling in the area of the inner corner of the eye
- Purulent or mucopurulent discharge (possibly from one eye only)
- Discolouration of the skin over the lacrimal sac, turning blue and/or red (in acute dacryocystitis)
- Redness of the mucous membrane
- Standing tear in the area of the lacrimal canaliculus
- Pain on touch (in acute dacryocystitis)
Nasolacrimal duct stenting
Nasolacrimal duct stenting is performed in cases of abnormal development of these ducts. At Crystal Vision, we insert a specialised stent for this purpose.
In complex cases, it may be necessary to create a new fistula to ensure lacrimal drainage into the nasal cavity, followed by stenting.
These operations are performed in collaboration with an ENT specialist under high-technology video‑guided control of the procedure.
This delivers results of the highest standard!
- When a child has undergone repeated probing procedures but patency has still not been restored
- When the nasolacrimal duct has been damaged during previous probing
- When the child has an abnormal nasolacrimal duct anatomy — tube-shaped rather than the normal cylindrical form
