Accommodometry

Accommodometry is an assessment of accommodative reserve.

We frequently discuss the importance of accommodation in treating children with myopia, since maintaining a high level of accommodative reserve is essential to preventing progression.
Unlike traditional methods of assessing accommodative reserve, the examination carried out using an autorefractometer with an accommodometer allows us to measure accommodation with great precision when diagnosing children with myopia, to display the results clearly, and to monitor accommodation over time — before and after treatment.
